Shocking News!It takes lots of money to run The San Antonio Cloggers' Showcase.Rent for the theater and Cos House is over $1600 each year. And we get a special discount off the regular price! As an IRS certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we do apply for many grants and actually receive funds from a few of those we apply for. Unfortunately, city requirements to obtain funding make us ineligible to apply. The groups make little or nothing for their time.We decided from the start that each group would receive funding based on the proceeds for admission (ticket sales). The theater has the capacity to hold 1000 people each night. That means we have the potential to make around $8,000 or around $363 per group. At best, we've been able to give an average $160 dollars to each of the groups. That's an average of $8 per performer. A new set of Steven's Stompers Buck Taps goes for $11.30 IF you get the multi-order team discount. Let's not EVEN talk about what it costs each individual for meals and lodging! How Can You Help?Corporations wishing to sponsor any or all of our annual event should contact us. General Fund:Donations made to the general fund will be used in the support of the Cloggers' Showcase. Security (our biggest expense), electrical setups, sound, booth rental, etc. can benefit from anything you care to give. While all donations qualify as charitable donations, each donation of $250 or more will receive not only the IRS-required certification of donation but your name will be prominently displayed in our program as well. Just click on the donation button and tell how much you'd like to give. You can also suggest where you'd like the money to be used. Your bill will reflect payment to JEANDRET, our hosting partner. (Legalese: Donations received after May 1st of any year will be applied to the general fund for the following year's Showcase.) Group Fund:Donations made to the group fund will directly benefit the performing groups. Like the general fund, you can suggest how you'd like the funds to be spent. If you'd like to give $50 to buy new shoes for a needy performer just click the donation button below and let us know you want to buy shoes.
